Weapons charges against Patriots player Jack Jones have been dropped, the DA announced Tuesday.The defensive back was arrested at Logan Airport in June for allegedly bringing two loaded guns in his carry-on bag. (CNN) — A 100-year-old African tortoise named Biscuit has been reunited with his family after being rescued from a canal, according to the Parish of Ascension in Louisiana.A local animal control team rescued the tortoise on Wednesday after the sheriff’s office found it “in distress” in New River Canal, located between Baton Rouge and New Orleans, a Facebook post from the parish stated.Animal control officers Curt Trepagnier and Isreal Millet “humanely contained, loaded into the truck, and safely transported” Biscuit to Cara’s House-Ascension Parish Animal Shelter, the post detailed.The tortoise was placed on a three-day stray hold at Cara’s House. DETROIT — The U.S. government is taking a big step toward forcing a defiant Tennessee company to recall 52 million air bag inflators that could explode, hurl shrapnel and injure or kill people.The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on Tuesday said it has made an initial decision that the inflators made by ARC Automotive Inc., and under license by another company, are defective. The agency scheduled a public hearing for Oct. 5, a required step before deciding to seek a court-ordered recall.In May the agency asked ARC to recall the inflators, which it says are responsible for at least seven injuries and two deaths in the U.S. and Canada since 2009.
