It’s obviously most famous for Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech. And the best known part of that speech is King’s words expressing hope that his children “will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.”In a sense, it’s understandable that one of the greatest works of oratory in American history has overshadowed the rest of the day. Everyone remembers Abraham Lincoln’s 272-word address at Gettysburg. But we don’t talk much about the preceding speech that day by the politician Edward Everett, which was almost 14,000 words long. Honestly, that is too much freedom.Nevertheless, it’s striking how much the “jobs” part of the March on Washington has dropped out of memory — because that was absolutely core to the message the marchers...

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Jacksonville Jaguars rookie linebacker Ventrell Miller will miss the season after rupturing his right Achilles tendon in the team’s preseason finale against Miami.Coach Doug Pederson made the announcement Monday, one day before the team has to pair its roster to 53.“He’ll be missed,” Pederson said.A fourth-round draft pick from Florida, Miller had been battling Shaq Quarterman for a backup spot behind starters Foye Oluokun and Devin Lloyd. But now Miller will spend the year rehabbing on injured reserve. It’s the third consecutive season Miller has dealt with a significant injury. Estonian President Alar Karis — leader of the Social Democrats, the minority party in Kallas’ coalition government — said Monday that the scandal diminished Estonia’s credibility in its interaction with allies. “The business activities of Prime Minister Kaja Kallas’ family member vis-a-vis Russia have raised many questions in the media and in society and have put the spotlight on the head of the government and the values that Estonia must follow,” Karis added, warning of a credibility crisis.
